Colour Prints Final Round 2017-18 – The Results Are In!

On Thursday 29th March we hosted the third and final round of our Colour Prints competition for the 2017-18 season. Each TPS member can bring along two photographic prints to each round, with the only constraints being that the image is in colour and conforms to our club’s sizing and mounting standards.

As we’ve come to expect, the quality of the prints shown on the night was very impressive, giving our guest judge a tough task selecting his favourites. Well done to all the TPS’ers who took part; it’s been a real pleasure to see your creativity and photographic skills on display through the course of this year’s competition.

After careful consideration, the judge awarded points to each image and these scores were added to the points collected in previous rounds.

We now have our TPS Colour Prints champions confirmed!

Congratulations go to Barbara Witherington who wins the Margaret Streeton Cup for amassing the most points in the Club Class competition, and to Peter O’Hare who wins the David Moore Cup as the winner of the Advanced Class competition. Bravo!

A selection of the judge’s favourite colour images are below. Special congratulations go to our TPS members who scored perfect 10s for their photos: Gary Coomber, Graham White, Barbara Witherington, Jon Cowdock and Peter O’Hare.

The final round of our Monochrome Prints competition will take place on 10th May 2018. Time to get snapping!

PDIs Final Round 2017-18 – The Results!

Well done to everyone who took part in our PDI (Projected Digital Images) competition for 2017-18. Last night, our guest judge, Paul Graber, reviewed the final round of the competition and picked out his favourite images of the night. Once again, there were plenty of entries and some cracking images, including some excellent 10-pointers! Well done to the TPS members whose images scored top marks: Peter Beard, Allister Frost (that’s me, awkward…), Roger Matthews, Neil O’Brien, Carole Mills, Clare Pickett and Brian Smith.

And, as this is round three, well-deserved congratulations are due to everyone who managed to enter all three rounds of the competition. It takes a lot of focus and perseverance to stay the course, so bravo to the 33 TPS members who achieved this distinction. Give yourselves a pat on the back, and now go for a lie down 🙂

And so, after three exhausting rounds, we have our PDI winners for 2017-18. The John Fox Trophy for Club Class PDIs will go to Malcolm Field, and the Philips Cup for Advanced Class PDIs will go to Sarah Bedwell LRPS. Big congratulations to you both!

You can see the final score tables here.

But, more importantly than the scores, here are a few of the judge’s favourite images from the night to help inspire your next photographic adventure. Enjoy!

Meeting Cancelled!

We’re very sorry, but we’ve had to cancel tonight’s TPS meeting (March 1st) due to the freezing conditions. Stay warm at home and we’ll look forward to seeing you next Thursday. Or wrap up and go out to take some amazing photos. Whatever you do, stay safe.
