Our 2016 season is now over, but as usual we have a full schedule of events for the summer, when we will be having a stall at various local fetes and fairs. We also have a schedule of informal fortnightly pub meetings throughout the summer, where existing members can meet for a beer and a chat, but prospective members are welcome to come along as well and see who we are. Full details of our summer events are here.
Our AGM on 26th May resulted in a few changes to the club’s managing Committee. We would like to say thank you to retiring committee members Caroline Farnes and Peter O’Hare for their sterling work over recent years. Peter’s role as External Competitions Secretary has now gratefully been occupied by Steve Elms.
After our AGM, members voted in a competition to choose the best prints of the year: the worthy winners were Adrian Buswell for his monochrome print “Reflections of the stable”, and to Angela Osborne LRPS for her colour print “African Leopard and Wildebeeste” – well done to both. The club also awarded the Graham Philips Trophy to Brian Smith LRPS. Full results for all of our competitions throughout the year can be seen here.
We have had the misfortune to have many late changes to our published programme in March and April – mostly outside our control. The latest change (hopefully the last) is for 14th April when we advertised a Match-a-PDI competition. Sadly this cannot go ahead, so we have scheduled an informal and interactive Members Evening of image correction, focussed on the Nik Collection of tools. Members are invited to bring along any image they feel has potential to be ‘improved’ and Marcus and Brian will ‘have a go’.
