The third round of our Monochrome Prints Competition gave TPS members one final chance to show off their photography and printing skills this season. And we saw some great images!
Our judge, Wayne Grundy ARPS, awarded several perfect scores and congratulations go to our 10-pointers: Malcolm Field, Carole Mills, John Pearson, Seb Springbett, Barbara Witherington, Simon Bedwell, Marie-Ange Bouchard, Jon Cowdock, and Clare Pickett. Bravo!
And, with this being the final round of this season’s competition, we have some overall winners and runner-up to announce. Drum roll please….
1st place: The Birchall Trophy goes to Simon Henderson
The runner-up is John Pearson
Both Simon and John are promoted to the Advanced Class for next season
1st place: The Phillips Cup goes to Simon Bedwell
The runner-up was Sarah Bedwell #awkward!
Thanks to everyone who took part in this and all our other competitions throughout the 2018-19 season. It’s your photographic experimentation, creativity and talent that help our photography community learn and grow. We loved seeing your work.
Our next competition will be at the start of the 2019-20 season in September when we look forward to welcoming new members, as well as some well-known faces. For those of you who triumphed this year, think of this as a launchpad for some even better photos next season. For those of you who missed out on a gong, we hope you’ve learned lots and will make full use of the summer break to get out and take some fabulous images. Enjoy it!
But, for now, please feast your eyes on a few of the judge’s top scoring images from our Monochrome Prints Round 3. We think they’re rather good!
PS Our next meeting is 8-10pm on 16th May in the White Hart Barn when we’ll welcome guest speaker Gavin Hoey. Check out some of this awesome work at https://www.gavtrain.com/.
