We’ve some stellar speakers lined up to join us at TPS events in the coming weeks.
On 4th April, we’ll meet in the Godstone Baptist Church Hall and be joined by Colleen Slater, a creative, macro photography specialist. Colleen has a keen interest in the fascinating, smaller things in life, like beetles, butterflies, ladybirds and flowers. Her evocative, atmospheric and intimate images focus on the ordinary, often unnoticed things, in the everyday world. Colleen’s work was recently featured in Amateur Photographer’s Macro Special Edition and she will share expert advice for creating perfect close-up photos.
One week later, on 11th April, we will welcome Rachel Talibart to our regular meeting place in the White Hart Barn in Godstone. Awarded 2018 Black & White Photographer of the Year, Rachel is described by Outdoor Photography magazine as “One of the Best Landscape Photographers working in Britain today.” Her photography reflects a passion for capturing breath-taking moments from empty shores, often in adverse weather that would have many running for shelter. Rachel’s celebrated ‘Sirens’ portfolio has been published as a fine art photography book and she will be talking about her approach to photography and offering tips for capturing that perfect moment.
And professional photographer Gavin Hoey will our guest at the White Hart Barn on 16th May. Gavin’s speciality is portraiture and photographic lighting. He runs “Camera Alchemy” workshops for the Royal Photographic Society and will be sharing simple techniques for perfect lighting.
Remember, entry is free for TPS members. Non-members and guests can attend at a cost of £5 per person.
There’s always lots to look forward to at TPS and excited to have so many opportunities to improve our photography with these expert speakers. Make a note in your diary and see you there!
