At TPS, we welcome everyone who has an interest in photography, whether they are complete beginners or have years of experience behind a camera. Our meeting venues are fully accessible and it doesn’t matter what equipment you use to take photos. Some members have fancy dSLRs or mirrorless digital camera systems while others simply use their smartphones.
Our TPS season runs from September to June each year and the annual membership subscription for the 2021-22 season is £60. That works out at under £1.70 per week, giving you access to more than a dozen expert speaker sessions and all our club competitions. If you join part-way through the season, the subscription fee will be discounted pro rata. We also host regular social events and trips (Out and Abouts) and support groups to help members who are keen to develop their knowledge.
If needed, we’ll help you figure out how to get your pictures out of your camera/phone so you can take part in our friendly competitions, and we’re here to you get up to speed quickly. For some competitions, you’ll need to get your images printed, either with your own printer or at a store, but again we can help you work out the easiest way to do this.

1. Want to ‘try before you buy’?
If you’d like to find out more about the club please come along to one of our evening meetings. We meet most Thursday evenings (September to June) from 8-10pm and location details can be found here. Where physical meetings are not possible, we meet online using Zoom.
Before attending for the very first time please email us to let us know you’re planning to come so we can hook you up with a friendly Committee Member to show you around and answer any questions you may have. Jon can also advise on a suitable first meeting to attend so you’ll get a good flavour of what TPS is all about.
2. Apply for Membership
We work hard to make our camera club as friendly and welcoming as possible and cap membership numbers at 75 people. This helps keep our weekly meetings friendly, so everyone can get involved and get the most out of their membership.
We may be able to offer you a place straight away but if we are at full capacity you can join our waiting list. In most cases you will be offered a place within a few months.

3. Get Involved!
After our Club Secretary has confirmed a space is available for you, please print out and complete the appropriate New Member Joining Form. Adult membership is for people aged 18 years and above, while Junior membership is exclusively for those who are 12-18 years of age at the time of joining:
Printed copies of these forms are also available on request from the Club Secretary at our in-person meetings. Simply complete your form and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring it along to one of our meetings.
