Breaking news, just in from Carole Mills and Clare Pickett. TPS took part in the SPA (Surrey Photographic Association) Inter-Club Print Competition, judged at East Horsley Village Hall on 23 November 2019.
We came 14th (out of 21 clubs) in the Open Print Category and 11th out of 18 club in the Nature Print Category, which, contrary to our recent track record, is definitely not last! Hurray!
To make life more interesting than it perhaps needs to be, scoring was out of 15 (why, oh why?!) and we had some notable high scorers.
Sarah Bedwell’s excellent ‘Shades of Winter’ scored 13 in the Open Print Category:
In the Nature Print Category, Geoff Spriegel grabbed a brace of high scorers, earning 12 for both ‘White Pelican, Greece’ and ‘Leopard, Serengeti’:
Other noteworthy high scorers in the Open print Category with 12 out of 15 were Jon Cowdock’s ‘Heading for Home’, Marie-Ange Bouchard’s ‘Proper Gander’ and Mike Barker’s ‘Platforms’.
In the Nature Print Category, Jeff Vianna also scored 12 out of 15 for ‘Juvenile Starling’.
Congratulations to all our TPS members whose prints were shown at the competition. Your images have already scored exceptionally well to have been selected for inclusion.
Thanks too to the TPS members who came to support on the day. We were made very welcome and our participation was noted.
Our next external competition will be the SPA Biennial Exhibition at Guildford and we’d like as many TPS members to enter individually as possible. More details to follow ahead of the deadline of 31st January 2020.
